Land Between the Lakes is a beautiful place. Of course, as soon as we got there it clouded over and remained that way till we left. We were staying at an out of the way Kentucky Parks "motel" where we were the only residents. At night it was very dark. In the morning we stepped out and saw dear in the parking area. Traveling to different parts of the park we saw these bison coming down the road. We had to sit it out before we could continue on. There is no messing around with these guys. Part of me wondered how curious they would get. Our bikes on the car's rear bike rack caught their attention. Everyone of them stopped to check it out. One of those heart thumping moments when they passed right by the car. In the distance we heard elk bugling during their rutting season. Also saw a lot of wild turkeys.
